Just when I found myself in a comfortable routine of teaching weekly classes everything changed.
Everyday rhythms, the soundtrack of life. Same commute, different people: you each have your journey in your ears.
An afternoon sitting next to the pond, watching dragonflies skim the water. Two days of retreat. No cell phone, no Wi-Fi. Just a little gunfire.
December days are still getting shorter and the afternoons bring a chill. Time to rethink and reorganize.
People don’t often talk about what grief feels like. I suppose people don’t often talk about what many things feel like, much less something as big and confusing as grief.
Being put momentarily off balance by something we didn’t expect isn’t so different than being off balance in a posture. Expectations lay traps for us.
