Ice cold, full of flavor, and packed with antioxidants

One of summer’s greatest pleasures is upon us and it has arrived just in time to counteract the sweltering heat that’s sweeping the nation.
Smoothies (as in an ice cold and full of flavor blueberry-basil smoothie to be exact!)
I love all berries equally and each type for different reasons, but when it comes to nutrition blueberries have a distinct advantage over their counterparts. Blueberries are a potent source of antioxidants, and along with other extreme health benefits, it makes them hard to resist.
Blueberries also provide us with just as much flavor as they do nutrition, which is why they make the perfect addition to a creamy smooth summer beverage.
Blueberry Basil Smoothie
1 cup blueberries
1 (6 oz) vanilla Greek yogurt
2 large basil leaves
1 cup ice cubes
honey to taste
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend on high until smooth. Add honey to adjust sweetness to your liking. Pour into glass and garnish with basil.
