I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I enjoyed the interview with Cora Wen, my current teacher. I love Cora. She is an amazing teacher, and I feel blessed that she is a part of my yoga path. I love her because she is fearless… I love her honesty and her willingness to stand on the edge and challenge the idea that yoga is something to “do” versus a state of being—a practice woven into every step rather than a pose on the mat. I love Cora because she is a teacher’s teacher… When you ask Cora about a particular posture, you are more likely to find out what internal organ is being stimulated by the posture than about what is “correct” or what would make your pose “better.” I love this!! Taking classes with Cora has helped me to see my body from the inside out, and as a result, it has infused my own teaching with a deeper awareness of my whole body and Self, the students in my classes, and our connection with Chi energy… Source…Prana, whatever word you want to use. It doesn’t seem possible that Cora’s little body could house so much energy, passion, knowledge, and experience… Your interview captured Cora’s spirit—her frankness, her absolute love of yoga, her intellect, and her humor. Thank you for the dialogue you shared—it reminds me of why I study with this beautiful yogi. Can’t wait to get back into her classroom!
