Yoga and Carharts
Winter at the Studio
BY MAGAZINE COLUMNIST BARBARA DENOWH
Winter yoga has long been a favorite of mine.
I love the feeling of coming out of the snow and cold into a warm studio. I love practicing in a tank top, sweating, as I look out the window at a winter wonderland. There is something so cozy and special about it.
There is something about winter. The hardness. The cold. The snow. The darkness. It all increases the supple, soft heat of the post yoga glow.
And, now with my little studio, it is even more special. I love watching the yogis come in bundled in their winter gear. Before I was familiar with each student’s gear, I wouldn’t recognize them until they stripped off that last layer.
It makes me smile to think of the yoga tights under the Carharts.
