Statistically speaking we earn less, live longer, and spend more time out of the workforce caring for family than men.
Release your heart from financial shame and guilt
Susan Some of us are really financially challenged. It’s hard to focus on it. Thinking or talking about money just feels judgmental and bewildering.
Manisha Alas, over the past twenty-five years the financial landscape has become quite complex.
When our parents were buying homes, for example, their choice was a 15-year or a 30-year fixed rate mortgage. Today we have an alphabet soup of mortgages to deal with… from option ARMs to reverse mortgages. Confronted with this dizzying array of choices it’s easy for our brains to shut off in self-defense and just ignore the entire topic.
Unfortunately, when you block yourself off from dealing with your finances head on, you also block yourself from creating the life of your dreams.
Don’t limit your potential – the world needs you
Susan In yoga there’s the concept of artha – the means to follow our life path. Is that what you mean by “Own your finances, own your life”?
Manisha Yes, there absolutely is a parallel.
If you want to reach your full potential in life, you’ll want your finances to be a tailwind not a headwind. The way you treat your money will determine the options you have for how you live your life.
Here’s to women making the proactive decision to care for their finances the same way they care for their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.
Susan Thank you, Manisha! Looking forward to next week!
